RTB Steelers U10’s overcame tough opposition from Croesyceiliog to win 50 points to 0. Led by club vice captain, Lewis Prendergast, the group showed great commitment and skills to eventually over-power the brave visitors. Three sessions of rugby were played and after the first 10 minutes, the Steelers held a slender 10-0 advantage. However as we entered the subsequent phases of the game, the intensity of the home side led to greater possession and territory for the ‘Steelers’. This led to numerous try scoring opportunities that were converted by try scoring machine, Josh Davies. It is fair to say that the immense work in the middle by Josh Hathway, Max Gregory and Lewis Prendergast created great space out wide for Josh D to take advantage of to finish in a clinical manner.
As the game progressed, the pressure was maintained and the home teams try line was never really threatened. Great performances from Owen Jones, Liam Price, Erin Harris, Callum Rooker and Leon Williams added to the players mentioned previous to ensure a great victory. The performance was possibly the most consistent all round ‘team’ performance of the season.
We move forward together as an age group and its great to welcome the new players who have recently attended training, we look forward to introducing them to the match-day environment with this successful team as we enter the dark winter months.
