The RTB Steelers Mini section put on a spectacular display under the lights of Eugene Cross Park versus our friends from Risca. The event was rescheduled from the monsoon season experienced early march and in near tropical conditions, the players of the Under 7 and 8's took the field. To a fan-fair introduction, the little boys and girls entered the arena like lions. Performances matched the entrance and both RTB teams shaded the contests to register victories over two talented and well drilled units from down the valley.

As the little ones vacated the arena, the U9/10's took the field, again to a fan-fair and applause that would shatter the nerves of lesser mortals. The U9's took the game by the scruff of the neck and tackled like demons, led by Regan Watkins, Finley Southall and Harri Jacob, the 9's battled hard against a committed opponent to register a hard fought victory.

The Under 10's played the third game in a series of three this season, and this was the first to end with a conclusion. Risca came out of the traps like greyhounds and soon edged into a 15 point (three try) advantage, suffering lethargy from Sunday's efforts, the group slowly edged back into the contest to shade the last two sessions. However the lead proved too difficult to overcome and as the home side chased the equalising try, Risca broke away to score and secure a 30 points to 20 victory that, on the night,  was well deserved for the impressive Risca outfit.

The night proved a fabulous success and players from both RTB and Risca enjoyed immensely. this event followed up on last seasons event versus Pontypridd.
